YWCA Penang is proud to acknowledge and extend our heartfelt appreciation to Yip Yew Chong (YC),

a well-known Singaporean artist whose work brings stories to life through a wide range of mediums—murals, canvas, sketches, installations, digital drawing, photography, and video-making.

Formerly in the accounting profession, YC pursued art part-time from 2015 before making the bold move in 2018 to become a full-time artist.

His signature style features intricately detailed visuals that weave together memories of childhood, forgotten places, and bygone eras—often intertwined with present-day scenes in imaginative and whimsical ways. Through his art, he hopes to evoke a sense of warmth and nostalgia, encouraging viewers to rediscover their own stories.

YC’s mural at YWCA Penang is a vibrant expression of community and heritage, and we are honoured to have it grace our space.

His love for travel continues to shape and inspire his work, enriching each piece with new perspectives and heartfelt meaning.
