“A home away
from home”

The YWCA’s all over the world have been noted for their hostels.  Wherever there is a YWCA, there is a hostel - A home away from home, for working young girls and students.  These were also havens of rest for weary women travellers.

The Penang YWCA followed the fine tradition of the parent organization and rose to establish a hostel where young women of all races would be made welcome and comfortable; where they can live in pleasant surroundings and where they can enjoy the blessings of friendship and togetherness in activities which provide mutual benefit during periods of leisure.
